28 July 2017 Perazzini sweeps Blancpain GT Sports Club practice at Total 24 Hours of Spa

Iron Cup ace Piergiuseppe Perazzini extended his free practice dominance in the Blancpain GT Sports Club at Spa-Francorchamps, as the AF Corse driver topped the FP2 timesheets with the #53 Ferrari 488 GT3.

Having already gone fastest overall in this morning’s FP1, the Italian charger, who is making his Blancpain GT Sports Club return this weekend in the Belgian Ardennes, logged a 2:21.363 flyer to repeat the feat in the second 30-minute session.

Perazzini headed Overall points leader Anthony Pons, who slotted his #72 AKKA ASP-run Mercedes-AMG GT3 into second place, half a second adrift of the table-topping Ferrari. AF Corse’s Patrick van Glabeke, who had already shown great pace at the previous round held at Circuit Paul Ricard, confirmed his strong form by clocking the third fastest time in the #488 Ferrari 488 GT3.

Fourth quickest was Autovitesse Garage R.Affolter’s Cédric Leimer in the #963 Lamborghini Huracan GT3, with Boutsen Ginion’s Karim Ojjeh securing fifth place aboard the #2 BMW M6 GT3. For her Blancpain GT Sports Club debut, female racer Angélique Detavernier finished a solid sixth in the #12 ComToYou Racing-run Audi R8 LMS.

In the Iron Cup title fight, Klaus Dieter Frers (#3 Artega Rennsport Ferrari 488 GT3) once again had the upper hand over class points leader Stephen Earle (#111 Kessel Racing Ferrari 458 Italia GT3). The German driver finished 11th, with the US charger down in 15th.

Xtra Cup challenger Dilantha Malagamuwa from Sri Lanka claimed P14 with the #24 GDL Racing-entered Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo.
